But lets face it the 21st century is very materialized. It seems though that most of us have forgotten the real reason why Christmas is around. We should remember that it is about the birth of Christ and that we should appreciate being around are family more. These days instead of looking forward to family coming over...people look forward to the gifts that they are going to receive. "It is better to give than receive," I think that many of us need to remember this phrase during the holiday season. In mid-November, I am already seeing Christmas commercials on television, and finding ads in the newspaper of companies advertising "holiday savings and prices." When I go into the mall, they already have started decorating it for Christmas! It makes me mad, because it seems as if people don't care anymore about what the true purpose of Christmas really is - to promote peace and understanding between all mankind.
