mistaken killings by police. Criminals succeed in taking a gun away from an armed victim less than 1% of the time. Therefore, guns are needed for self-protection. (Brennen and Polsby).Banning more and more guns may reduce gun violence, but it will not eliminate guns from society. It will only lead to more and bigger problems while continuing to take more freedom away from the American people. Firearms are nowhere near the actual root of the problem of violence. It’s arguably almost completely separated from it as long as people come in unlike sizes, ages, shapes, and temperament. But if they diverge in their task for risk and their willingness and capacity to prey on other people or to defend themselves from perdition; and, above all, as long as some people have little or nothing to lose by spending their lives in crime, dispositions to violence will persist. (Brennen and Polsby). The United States of America has gone from a nation of gun-flinging cowboys to one of anti-gun laws and protests everywhere. Making laws any way they can to try and disarm citizens, taking away our fundamental right of “keeping and bearing arms”. When properly used, guns are not something to be afraid of. They prevent, rather than cause, something from happening. The second Amendment of the US Constitution says, “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed”. That right is being infringed in every way possible and it needs to be stopped....
