The best way to start off is by having someone with a basket of balls hit the ball at your forehand while they are standing in the middle of the court right in front of the net. What you do is try to hit them, if you hit them the ball will be in. After that you need to focus on a target anywhere on the opposite side of the court and try to hit it. One of the hardest but most important part of tennis is keeping your eye on the ball all the way to the racket, if you dont do that then you won't be able to control the ball as well.The next part of tennis is the backhand. You would think that if you can get the forehand down than you would have no problem with back hand but actually it is more difficult. It doesnt really matter whether or not you use one hand or two hands on your backhand, it's which ever you feel more comfortable with. Your backhand is done exactly like your forehand except for you have to concentrate harder on keeping the racket even. Normally people have a problem with slanting their racket a bit and not watching the ball all the way to the racket on their backhand. If you do that than you will not be able to control your ball very well. How to learn your backhand can be done exactly like your forehand by having someone hit you a ball to your backhand while they are standing in the middle of the court right in front of the net and you try to hit them. Then try to find targets on the court and try to hit them, just like you did your forehand. After you get that down pretty well than you can try volleying with someone by someone hitting you a ball and you try to get it back to them keeping the ball in bounds. Another way to work on your forehand and backhand, and maybe an easier way is with a ball machine.
