I am Roberto Walker Clemente #21. I was born on August 18, 1934 and raised in barrio San Antonio a section in Carolina, Puerto Rico. My parents were Melchor and Lisa Clemente. One strength was that I have always had a passion to play baseball and was good at it. At the age of 18 years old, on October 9, 1952, I signed a contract with the Santurce Crabbers of the Puertorican winter league. Throughout my time with them my fans adored me. This made me very depressed and had me play even harder than before. Thanks to my playing my team the Pirates won the World Series, beating the Bronx Bombers. I finished the series with a .310 batting average. I led the National League in assists five times and won twelve consecutive Gold Glove Awards!I was on my way to Nicaragua to take them some food and supplies after an earthquake.
