Chango also loves women, food, dancing and allthings that are exciting which is why he is present at the time ofcarnival. The mother says, Santiagos jumping tonight. Its real hot! Chango in person has come down from heaven to drive all the womenwild.2 Her son, like Chango, wants to drive the women wild as hedrives his mother wild. They have been sexually active for most of hisadult life and then some. She has always had a man at her side andhas always cheated on him not only with her son but also with herneighbors and her neighbors neighbors and every other man in thattown. Her son now believes that it is his turn to drive the womencrazy like Chango and she does not take it very well.The third god referred to in the play is Ochun (Our lady ofCharity). She is a river, warrior goddess and the equivalent of theGreek and Roman Aphrodite and Venus. She is the goddess of love,marriage, money and joy. The mother is the one that refers to herand she does so in song. She sings, Ochun the goddess Wants toknow where you went Because she knows that one day Once youregrown, in her bed Youll teach her the secrets And true pleasures ofsex.3 Ochun is also the goddess of the winds and the cemeteries. She offers protection against death to her followers. The other god referred to in this play is Olofe. He is present inthe title which explains what the story is about. Olo in the Lucumivocabulary means owner or the one who has or possesses; fe is theword for love. Olofe is the one who possesses love. This is thestruggle for love that the mother and her son go through. The razor isindicative of that struggle. Whoever has that razor is Olofe, the victorof the struggle for ownership.
