Rosies
Rosies Scene opens up on a small, dim lit bar. There are three men sitting together in front of a television, ranging in age from mid 50’s to early 60’s.(Al, Tommy, Roger) The bartender, Bobby, is in his late fifties and is cleaning glasses behind the bar. At the end of the bar sits Louie, who is in his mid sixties and is hunched over the bar with drink in hand. Finally, Loretta, in her mid fifties, bleached and teased blond hair, carrying a tray of empty glasses. Al: (loudly) Did you see that boys? Did you see that catch? That boy Jeter, what a ball player! Tommy: A big show off is all he is. Slacks off the whole first half of the season and then once the Yanks start winning and more people are watching then he pulls that fancy shmancy stuff. Some hot shot. Roger: I don’t know why I sit here and watch these games you with damn fools. The Yankees don’t have a chance this year. My Red Sox are looking mighty good this season. Al: (laughing) Hey Roger when are you going to give up on that sorry excuse for a franchise and cheer for a real team? Tommy: Hey Bobby can we get another round down here? Loretta: (sarcastically) Well, well, I can’t not believe my eyes! Why I haven’t seen you boys in ages! How the hell are ya? Bibliography:
