21st Century Managers

st century is going to be very demanding on both managers and supervisors. I believe the areas that I will have the most trouble with are the leadership and listening skills. I am a very social individual and enjoy working with my employees when possible. I feel that it will be very difficult to be a successful leader without the advantage of talking with an employee in person. I do feel that many of the changes to come in the 21st century will be rewarding and beneficial to corporations. With the technology of computers this opens the doors to lowering operational costs, by allowing computers to do the majority of the work that employees would typically do. Fortunately, we have plenty of other positions for those who lose their jobs due to computer technology. I am in a sales and marketing environment that requires face-to-face communication with clients, and I hope that I retire before a computer takes over my socialized style of management skills....
