This makes it difficult for companies to find high quality individuals. However, when companies offer generous rewards or compensation plans, people are willing to accept new jobs. It is going to be difficult for supervisors/managers to let valuable associates leave due to a better incentive programs elsewhere. This has happened in my department several times already, and the turn-around ratio in my organization is getting higher. The only way to keep valuable employees is to offer them the best incentive program in the industry. Some companies even allow associates to pick from a variety of different reward options. I have not had the experience of choosing how I would like to be rewarded, but would be very open to it. It appears that planning and changes will only get more difficult for supervisors and managers in the 21st century. High priority projects change often due to technology, clients changing their minds, and other miscellaneous reasons. Managers are able to plan things out in advance, but also must be ready to alter their plans. It seems that as a whole, people and society are not planning projects, travel, and meetings nearly as early as they used to. In fact, how many times are we not scrambling while closing in on the deadline of a project? In my experience I find that I often have last minute revisions and ideas. This is not bad, in fact the clients are normally impressed by the creativity. The one thing that I do an exceptional job of planning in advance for is conventions. I have received praise from my administrative staff and employees on how well I run a convention. This is something that I personally can control. My suggestion is for all supervisors and managers to take a seminar in planning and dealing with changes.
