Influential Essay

. As I neared the town the speed limit was reduced to 35 mph. The road had a little hill so I couldn’t see the stop sign. Usually when I went down this road I would just let off the gas and the hill would slow me down, and then I would just coast to the stop sign. So I did what I usually do and then a cop came over the crest of the hill. The cop did a U-turn and put it’s lights on and pulled me over. I got a ticket for 49 mph in a 35 mph speed limit and four points on my license. Since this was my probationary license the second ticket that you get, gets two more points added on to it.Now that I had twelve points on my license I knew that I could lose it. So , I went down to the Court House to get my second ticket reduced. When I was talking to the Clerk of Courts she told me that I couldn’t get my ticket reduced unless I had my ticket with me. Unfortunately I lost my ticket and I couldn’t find it. Then a couple weeks later I got a letter from the DOT (Department of Transportation). It stated that I had twelve points on my license and that I got my license revoked for two months. Now the ironic thing is that the day after I lost my license I was cleaning my room and I found the ticket that I was looking for.Losing my license was one of the most influential things that ever happened to me in my life. Now I have learned my lesson and I don’t speed anymore. I guess it’s true what people say, you don’t know how good something is until you lose it....
