Memoirs of the Liars Club

brakes of his truck? Did she feel that her father wasn’t interested in her welfare?Pages 195-205I don’t understand how an eight-year-old could know so much. Mary catches her mother shirtless with a cowboy Ray right by her side. She mentioned that when her mother said she was glad to see her that wounded her so much because she hates lies. I too cannot stand when someone lies to me, especially when they are trying to be superficial about an awkward situation. I think those words, “Say hello to your new daddy” had an effect on Mary for the rest of her life. If I was Lecia, I would do anything I can to comfort Mary about the situation she is in. Pages 212-224Antelope was a new experience for Mary. I know how she feels because I feel the same exact way when I go into a city like that. At my old house, my brother and I shared rooms. But once we moved, we had our own rooms and the freedom was fantastic. Lecia and Mary finally had their own bedrooms upstairs. The school environment she attended was not what she is used to. Girl’s were smoking out in public instead of hiding in the bathrooms, and other acts that were considered to her immoral. The boys had long her whereas from where she is from, the boys had a crew-cut.Pages 232-245I liked how Mary’s mother said back home “God, to be that blissfully ignorant.” That sentence means a lot to me. Some things in life are just better off not to be known. Mary mentions that smart people suffered; dumb people didn’t. I feel that is also true too. There are a lot of extremely intelligent people in the world who do not make it far in life. While ignorant, immoral people have wealth and security. If I was Mary, I would have told the teacher the kids that are fooling around are distract her from learning. I am sure that the teacher would have done something about the matter. This would have prevented Mary from getting upset.Page...
