The Evil Boy

ng and this ignorance causes him to be evil. The boy trusts the director’s wife and when he finds that she is just using him he let down. The director’s wife is one of the first people in the boy’s life that he feels he can trust, "he came to her because he believed her to be good"(Murr 55). When the boy discovers that she was just using him like everyone else then he is let down and this makes the boy angry at the world, which makes him act in evil ways. A person can not survive mentally if they don’t have anyone to show them love when they are young and the boy never experiences love. His mother doesn’t know how to love; his father doesn’t want him so the boy turns to the fat man for love. The fat man doesn’t know what love is but believe that he loves the boy. "There’s nothin’ else for me,"(Murr 110) the fat man says when the boy tells him that he is going to leave; this false love for the boy is even worse when he figures out that he doesn’t have any one that loves him. With no one to love the boy is bound to be evil. I believe the reason that the boy is evil is that it is his nature. It has even been said that he is possessed by the devil. The nature of this boy can also be blamed for his actions; something is wrong with him and it went too far to be blamed only on his nurture. If he is possessed by the devil then that would explain what is wrong and why he acts in the ways that, that he does. I do not believe that the boy is possessed by the devil, but I do believe that nature does have to do with how evil he is. I think that he has some sort of problem with his brain that causes him to act in a way that can be considered evil. It is not just one thing that caused the argument in the book The Boy. I do not believe that the biggest argument in the book is not whether the boy is evil but what causes him to be evil. He is evil because of a combination of nature ...
