Almost a year after the President was shot; the Warren Report was ready. The people who investigated the assassination wrote it. These people were called the Warren Commission. The report was over 900 pages long, and says that Lee Harvey Oswald was guilty and that he acted alone. Many people didn’t believe the report and they started to write their own reports and books about the Kennedy assassination. Many of these books and reports are conspiracy-oriented. People who read the books and reports believed them. However these books and reports tended to leave out the evidence that was contradictory to what they were saying. Most of the evidence in the books showed only the part that coincides with their theory.All conspiracy-oriented books and reports talked about the Grassy Knoll. The Grassy Knoll is a grassy hill that was in front of John F. Kennedy’s limousine. When the first shots were fired, many witnesses thought that the shots came from the Grassy Knoll. Since then the Grassy Knoll has been known as the probable hiding place of a “second gunman.” Conspiracy-oriented books often feed on the “evidence” in the Grassy Knoll. The “evidence” is based on a few shady shapes seen in films of the Grassy Knoll, puffs of smoke seen on the hill, and the jerking back of the President’s head when he was shot. These hardly can pass for evidence. Especially since they can mostly be disprove. The shady figures caught on film on the Grassy Knoll are examples.
