What is a crusade? Well a crusade is a military expedition organised by the church for the liberation of the Holy Land. Listed below are some of the crusades. Each one bloodier and suicidal in their own way.The First Crusade ( 1096-1099).In answer to the Urban's call contingents took to the road. The first contingents were poor pilgrims, badly armed or some even unarmed. There where four groups formed. The attack on Damascus was the end of the crusade. The Kings returned home and the Turks went on taking hold on the land of the crusaders. The Third Crusade - 1189 - 1192.The aim of the this crusade was to finish what the second crusade left undone. Saladin was the leader of this great upsurge of the Arabs against the Turkish conquers. He became the Sultan of Damascus. He won great victory over Hospitallers ...
