This is the reason most immigrants were at one time members of the Democratic party in this country. This was the party that looked out for the interests of minority people and their security in a highly competitive society so that the gap between the wealthy and the poor would not continue to widen. This effort resulted in a coalition of diffrent movements in this country labor unions, and social activities in the church as well as liberal politics. Then a strange development began to take place. Somehow the issue of womens rights became linked to the same issue as abortion. It then quickly became a liberal issue to promote equal rights for women, and the right of women to control her own agenda and her own destiny and her own body. To say that a distinct person has no rights is not a liberal position, but an elitist one. To rid the world of unwanted people is totalitarian principle, not a democratic one. Despite all the issues that we have discussed there are more issues to talk about like the psychological, and physical effects. Psychological effects are also very real. Women suffer from PAS ( Post-Abortion Syndrome). They experience impacted grief that is grief which festers within the like pus because they and others deny that a real death has occurred, because of this denial can not properly occur, yet the pain is still there. Many women have flashbacks to the abortion experience, such as nightmares about the baby, and even pain on the anniversary of the due date.
