I have also found this book to be very helpful in giving me background checks in what's being said in other books, sort of like a reference book. It has a some good information on Elizabethan Theater, Stage Settings (it has a wonderful example of the setting for Dr. Faustus), Shakespear, and The Later Elizabethans.
