Like any other problem we can choose whether we will allow ourselves to be defeated by it or if we will emerge stronger to seek solutions and offer a helping hand to those who need it. It has already gone on too long. So many people have suffered and far too many have died unnecessarily because no one cared or for the lack of money. It should never have happened in the 20th and 21st centuries, in the wealthiest country in the world (Kosof 4). Homelessness results from a complex set of circumstances which require people to choose between food, shelter, and other basic needs. Only a concerted effort to ensure jobs that pay a living wage, adequate support for those who cant work, affordable housing, and access to health care will bring an end to homelessness (Kosof 4).
