Action involves conflict and it falls into same five parts that are in plays. Which are: Exposition, rising action, turning point, falling action and conclusion. The first short story that I read is named Dreams by Timothy Findley. This story has one obvious moral that was broken, which is the biggest one of all in people eyes, murder. At least in my eyes, that is a sin and I honestly think it is in most people’s minds. People just don’t kill people because they are angry with a person, I think that is very senseless. I think “Dreams” is fiction because individuals can’t murder people in dreams. Although, strangely I heard of stories which people could leave their bodies during meditating but never about killing. As crazy as it sounds I am not sure if this is fiction or non-fiction but I think it is more fiction. In this case, it didn’t offend me at all because it was hard to believe someone can do that. If that was the case there would be many more murders in our life and there would be no protection against dream. “Dreams” is a short story that shows many things of which are morals. Another short story that better shows morals as an issue is The Cask of Amontillado by Edgar Allan Poe. In most of Poe’s works it has to do with sick and miserable endings or mysterious. The ending was confusing to me but I understand that there was death of some kind. This ending was mysterious and Poe wants you to linger on the thought of what exactly happened.Cathedral by Raymond Carver is not about morals that deal with death but it is more about love.
