Because they will know all they need to know in life for their living, they will become professionals and they will be more efficient than the common man, who is handy at so many types of labor. Smith compares this concept to a pin factory, one person draws the wire while another cuts it and yet another pints it, the system going on and on with each job being given to a specialized worker, who would be more efficient at his particular job than any other.
