positions were needed along with permanent jobs to keep the facility running. New construction jobs and maintenance for the facility had to be filled. The sound system alone required many new jobs to maintain and operate such detailed equipment. This is an example of how one project in one location can have an effect on many companies in many areas. Even Bloomington is affected by this project. The large amounts of limestone required for the building increased the revenue for Bloomington companies. Their employees may then have more money. This creates the multiplier effect for a city 50 miles away from the actual construction site of Conseco Fieldhouse. This new arena may have a major effect on just the immediate area, but defiantly has some effect on Indiana as a whole. The 1,461,359 man-hours spent on the project gave many workers great experience and job time. They can then use this experience to apply for other jobs in the future. Other companies will then benefit from higher quality employees. Once again this construction not only helps build the pride of Indianapolis but also helps many companies and people through out the state.High TechnologyA newly formed group has taken up the task of implementing initiatives recommended by the citys High Technology Task Force.
