e the citys economic development efforts over the next decade. (Indianapolis) Conseco Fieldhouse fits right into this plan for Indianapolis. Leading the way, the facility shows how serious the interest in High-Tech plans for the city really are. In addition to the Fieldhouse plans have been revealed to build a new 210-acre high-tech office park on the north side of Indianapolis. Intech Park could boost city efforts to attract technology companies by combining computer software and other high-technology firms in a central location. Though these new plans may not be the result of Conseco Fieldhouse, they are in some way related. If the city decided to stay with Market Square Arena many companies may feel Indianapolis was not willing to put the necessary effort into leading the High-Tech industry. Another project related to this is the new I-70 interchange. This will allow for direct access into a 1,500 acre business park south of Indianapolis International Airport. This new park will eventually bring 10,000 new jobs and $1 billion of new investment into Indianapolis over the next 15 years. These new jobs and increased revenues could increase the popularity of Conseco Fieldhouse. If people are able to spend a little more money, the draw of such an extravagant and high-tech facility could increase attendance to Pacer games and other functions held at the Fieldhouse. All of this new development could even be said to require Indianapolis to have a sports arena that represents the new wave of high technology being brought into the area. In June 1998, Employment Review magazine again named Indianapolis one of Americas Best Places to Live and Work. Indianapolis has made the list three years in a row.
