It is with this that the death penalty should be abolished, if not on the grounds that it does not deter crime and wastes a lot of money, then on the grounds that our innate being knows it is impossible. Has not the bible said "What God has created, let no man put asunder." We CANNOT kill. From the true essence of our beings - death is impossible. All we can do is eliminate the form, and philosophers today, including those in physics verify that we are not the form. For a good metaphor we can say that Pilate crucified Christ, but he did not kill Christianity. If anything he gave birth to it. Like Socrates said "What you resist persist." So resisting this evil we have labeled in our society has caused it to persist more and more. How can we believe that there is any life after death when we actually believe that when we execute someone we have killed him. It is amazing the hypocrisy that exist in our country.One of the most influential philosophers that is re-birthing as the twentieth century closes is a man by the name of Emmit Fox. Fox, along with Paul Ferrani, Scott Peck MD and a whole list of others that cannot be contained or limited in writing stipulate a central theme of oneness. This oneness ties into Jung's collective consciousness and by the studies of many scientists, a shift in perception needs to occur to change this collective consciousness surrounding the executions themselves. "The attempt is to get a sense of purpose, decency, aspiration and even holiness back into political culture. Even if such a state of affairs never really existed, most of us behave as though it did - hence re-sacralization." (Samuels/Jung 4,5). These murderers were not born - they were created. What has happened to one is a reflection of what we as a group have construed. What we do to another, we do to ourselves. "The law of retribution is a cosmic law, impersonal and unchanging as the law of gravity.....
