The change is not to be made in the laws but in each individual himself so that the collective conscious of our society shifts to a point in time where we realize that our problems have and always will be based on the premise that we as humans deem what is right and wrong but in all practicality, a life for a life does not stop the cycle of crime. In fact, just the existence of such ideas reinforce its manifestation. Perhaps it's not the death penalty that should be an issue, but our thoughts about it. Once we have developed a thought system of any kind we live by it and teach it. Our capacity for allegiance to a thought system may be misplaced, but it still a form of faith and can be redirected. We must redirect our thought system regarding the Death Penalty. Collectively as a human race we have created a society where murder is acceptable. Our thoughts have manifested into actions in society. Let us knowledge this truth so the healing can begin and may a higher source of law instill in the politicians who are responsible for our fates....
