e companies finer diamonds that are much rarer and think it ismorally wrong to buy blood diamonds so De Beers has said that they will not purchase or dealwith the tainted diamonds and that they withdrew buyers in the war zone areas and hopes otherbuyers will withdraw also.( Losing Their Sparkle, 18) A way that De Beers hopes to show that they have the best of the worlds diamonds is byprinting De Beers and the serial number on the diamond that way they can protect againstsynthetic gems and to help consumers so they will not make the mistaken and buy a NON DeBeers diamond. This name would not be able to be seen by the naked eye or a jewelers loupe(magnify glass) but only threw a special reading tool. De Beers main goal is to be able to sell directly in the United States. They are currently notallowed to be cause their company goes against certain antitrust laws set up to stop monopolies.There would have to be a break up of De Beers first for America to allow anything to do with DeBeers to sell here. (A consumer campaign that broke the De Beers cartel and created a free marketin gem diamonds would be a splendid idea. But there is a long way to go.) (Losing Their Sparkle,17) There are many things that cause worry to this company. Most of it is their fault, but theyare just doing so they can sell their goods they really arent hurting anyone directly. Hopefullythings will become easier for them and they will be aloud to sell in the states. But until that timethey will probably keep n doing what they do, stock piling buy diamonds before they go to marketdealing with rivaling countries. It will all go on as long as they are in business....
