Using the coarse adjustment knob to bring the body tube down, but at all times while the body tubing is lowering look form the side or have a partner look from the side to make sure the lens does not hit the specimen and make the slide crack. So that’s the procedure to making a wet-mount slide, use precautions while focusing a high- power lens, don’t capture any air bubbles in the coverslip, use a thin specimen and always be aware of the opposite movement.
