r rebuilding from the attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii took a turn for thebetter. In 1959, Hawaii became part of the United States of America. This did wondersfor the economy, (as far as plantation farming for sugar and pineapples). It also sawmore people coming in as a fact of tourism. In 1959, two hundred forty three thousandpeople visited Hawaii, (Borreca A10). No one would’ve ever expected the now five million people a year tourist industry.People go there to see historical site such as Pearl Harbor.There are six main islands in Hawaii anyone can visit. They are Kauai, Oahu,Maui, Molokai, Lanai, and the Big Island of Hawaii, (they are listed from west to east).The capital, Honolulu, is located on Oahu. The most populated island is Hawaii, themain island, but the most populated city is Honolulu. All of the islands have a vastamount of topography, but mostly the same climate. The temperature there is mostlybetween 70 and 90 degrees all year round, fluctuating between levels of land, weatherbeing sea levels or beings the volcano levels. Hawaii has valleys, oceans, mountains,plains, craters, and just about everything you can think of. The temperature is one of themain tourist attractions, as well as the sandy beaches and volcanoes. When a person goes to Hawaii for a vacation, they would expect for there to bethings to do and places to stay and eat. There are many places on each island to stay,eat, visit, and have fun at.On the island of Kauai, you can stay at the Garden Island Inn, the Kauai MarriotResort and Beach Club, and many other hotels or resorts. There are also other things tostay at like Bed and Breakfasts and rental homes and cottages. This is the case for all theislands with main hotels being the chains of Marriot or the Hyatt.
