The Bible does not condemn love for the same sex, but rather condemns sexual acts with the same sex. In a heterosexual relationship, sex is not condemned unless it is out of wedlock. So, if homosexual couples get married, they have taken care of the sexual aspect of a relationship according to the Bible. According to Stoicism, this would be living by nature. The Lord condones acts of nature, so why are these acts condemned?In addition to research of the Bible, there is continuing research in the medical field concerning psychological perspectives on homosexuality. In the early 1970s, homosexuality was thought of as a mental disorder. At that time, psychologists aimed their work at eliminating homosexual behavior by therapy (Kimmel 117). In over a decade since then, this situation has changed. The many gay and lesbian movements have stirred to challenge the view of homosexuality as a sickness.In the past, while homosexuality was considered a mental disorder, therapists discouraged homosexual activity. Now, clinicians have taken on new ways of treating their homosexual patients. Therapists now use methods of encouraging homosexual activity instead of trying to eliminate it (Kimmel 118). Even with the new views of homosexuality, some therapists refuse to accept change and continue to uphold the view that homosexuality is a serious mental disorder.There have been many major developments in homosex...
