truth for many reasons. One such reason is the age of the documents. Teachers date the manuscripts to between 200 B.C. and 68 A.D. and yet the scrolls match modern day texts of the Old Testament exactly (Dead). One might expect errors to be made over the span of two thousand years. These documents contain some of the oldest known copies of certain books and even complete reproductions of such books as Isaiah (Dead). The other element that creates a firm basis for the truth of the Bible is the mass quantity of the copies that exist for both the Old and the New Testaments. There are over 20,000 known manuscripts of the New Testament text today. This simple fact alone makes, “the New Testament the most reliable document of antiquity (a document written before the printing press)” (How Do You Know 3). Though all this evidence exists proving the Bible to be reliable, there is still disbelief among many as to whether or not a man named Jesus ever even walked this earth.The man Himself can be proven almost as easily as the books that write about Him. With a little research and common sense anyone can see that a man, named Jesus, walked the earth two thousand years ago, and claimed to be the Son of God. Even if one is prone to disbelief of the Bible, non-biblical evidence exists that Jesus did exist. Take, for instance, all the ancient historians. One would think that if the man that is written about in the Bible truly existed and caused so much conflict in His time, that people (other than Christians) would write about Him. One would be both correct and incorrect in those assumptions. While there are a few ancient writers that mention Him in their works, they are among a select few. As Dr. Kalajainen mentioned, many historians had no reason, want or need to write about Him. Romans and others did not believe in Him and so they disregarded and ignored Him.
