While Doc had stayed in Dodge City with his girl 'Big Nose' Kate they settled in for the winter. In Dodge City Doc had built up a bad reputation in which the people respected, because they didn't want to see Doc in a bad mood so no one would think of calling him a liar. The people were so afraid of Doc that they knew that it wasn't an act he was putting on. Doc wore a suit of armor just in case the people would try to kill him or something else bad to him. Holliday would make up his mind to go to Tombstone, but in order to make it there he would have to make some extra money. Doc had done just that winning a large amount of money at the poker tables. Before Doc left he bought himself a new gun; a new model of the 1873 colt, after his purchase of he had had the barrel cut off for easy carrying. Kate had went into a nagging attitude that turned into a rage threating to kill herself and Holliday if he didn't take her, so to shut her up he took her. And off their journey began to Tombstone. On their way they stopped in Las Vegas for a few days and during their stay Holliday had found himself in a gunfight with a man named Charlie White in Which Doc had killed.
