Tolerance is Essential for Peace in the Middle East

ist manner—embracing humanity and peace rather than violence and war. Any person who believes that the Palestinians are the unfortunate victims of unfair Zionist policies and should be given the opportunity to achieve autonomous statehood must not succumb to the hypocrisy of racism. Tolerance on all sides of an issue is an important factor in achieving peace! We must recognize our common humanity, and stand up to all forms of intolerance, injustice, and human rights violations. We need peace!!! Both the Israelis and the Palestinians are clearly very concerned about the violence and bloodshed that has been inflicted upon each of their respective people (whether it be caused by suicide bombers or by the Israeli military). We must somehow figure out a way to end this violence, and stop the suffering. However, a tangible peace cannot occur when people are vehemently spouting out racist and prejudiced rhetoric at one another. Anyone (no matter which side you are on), who believes in the protection of human rights and the cessation of violence, should abandon his or her anachronistic prejudice and begin working towards actually making a difference in this devastated region. Let’s save lives rather than senselessly promoting hate and racism. Tolerance on all sides of an issue is an important factor in achieving peace! We must recognize our common humanity, and stand up to all forms of intolerance, injustice, and human rights violations. ...
