(Ireland 1999). Although the Christian Bible condemns the unlawful murder of an innocent child it also condemns the murder of abortion doctors or clinic workers under any circumstances (Warren and Dwiggins 19??). An average of two of these violent attacks occurs each month (Ireland 1999). On October 23, 1998, an Anti-abortionist sniper with a high-powered rifle kills Dr. Barnett Slepian in Amherst, NY, through his window. This act of violence, taking someones life, contradicts the anti-abortionist view of killing a human being.The pro-life activists view of violence and abortion is a from a totally different perspective. The Feminists for Life of America recognize abortion as the ultimate act of violence against women and children (FFL 1998). Although one can agree an abortion in he first trimester is still violent, an abortion in the third trimester, called partial-birth abortion, is the worst act of violence one could ever experience. This is performed in the fifth month or later in the pregnancy. The womans cervix is dilated, and the fetus is partially removed from the womb, feet first. The surgeon jabs a sharp object into the back of the fetus head, removes it, and inserts a vacuum tube through the brain and then extracted (Robinson 1999). This procedure is just as brutal, if not more, than a murder of a fully-grown human being. Many women choose these abortions if the pregnancy in a danger to their own health or the baby is deformed. This deformed or handicapped baby has just as much right as any other human. Should we kill born, deformed or handicapped people too (Warren and Dwiggins 19??)? These reasons along with others are why women choose to end their pregnancy through this act of violence.Rape and incest are other reasons why a woman chooses to have an abortion.
