They thought that the profit-sharing plan was highly valued and appreciated, especially by the older employees. While it was highly valued by most employees it was not the only thing that they valued. Since most of the employees had relatives that worked at the auto plant they were well aware of the economic benefits. The bank was negligent in realizing this fact. The bank failed to take into account that the teachers and professors of the local college secured substantial pay increases as a result of collective bargaining. In the unionizing effort the bank exhibited some questionable tactics as was stated earlier. The bank failed to follow the virtue of respect when it confiscated the original union membership cards. Regardless of the fact that the cards were found on company property, the employees had a right to be informed of an alternate means of representation. This also brings in the virtue of fairness. In an electioneering campaign persuasion is ethical. Methods and political means must be scrupulous. But, First Central overstepped the boundaries in the question and answer sessions. Some of the statements that were made were falsehoods.
