During the journey he tries to find himself and put together why he is here and is this his final mission in life to take Kurtz life. He goes through several different barriers, which try to stop him along the way, but in the end he knows this mission was meant for him and has a deeper meaning in spirituality than anyone else could take it for. There must be several different aspects running through his head about this particular mission and he has to find a way to deal with that. His mindset is to kill Kurtz but what runs through ones head when they are on a mission to kill someone. He knows he could suffer severe consequences such as death which he escapes as he goes along. The whole process of finding himself through this journey does not really hit him until close to the end when he is ready to kill Kurtz. He basically goes through a process of being reborn and he knows what he has to do. It’s almost like taking Kurtz’s life will enable him to live the life that he once had. A born genius stupid to the world because of economic establishment and challenged social behaviors Kurtz’s position is perfect for Marlowe to establish his own self. After he takes Kurtz’s life he begins his purification process. I guess these two stories are related in the aspect that all of the characters had challenges to face and that with complications still succeeded in more ways than just their specific challenges. They learned things about themselves that they never knew before and realized that they had more potential to complete a forceful process than they thought. They may have cheated nature and the odds against them but they shouldn’t be too cocky about this so called win I gue...
